In 2006, Pallant House Gallery approached Chichester Gallery Art Books founder Nick Higbee to set up the gallery shop. With his extensive experience in art book selling, the trustees considered him capable of realising their vision of a specialist bookshop offering to Gallery Friends and visitors a range of books that would complement the Gallery’s own collection and reflect its importance.  The new shop, therefore, focuses primarily on books of Modern British Art and Artists whilst also stocking a small range of books on International Contemporary Art.

Pallant House Gallery Bookshop now offers arguably the most comprehensive range of new, remaindered and out of print books on Modern British Art in the country.

In addition, the Gallery Bookshop often works closely with artists, selling prints and specially commissioned pieces by, amongst others, Peter Blake, Paul Catherall, Susie MacMurray and Nina Saunders.

Pallant House Gallery Bookshop is now an important focal point for all those interested in art and art books.

Offering a mail order service, the shop also provides up to date information on all relevant publications on Modern British Art.
