Marc Steene, Head of Learning and Community, at Pallant House Gallery has been nominated in the category of 'Biggest Contribution to the Arts in the Community' in this year's Chichester Observer Community Awards. for his innovative work with marginalised artists through projects such as Outside In and Partners in Art.
The innovative work pioneered by Marc Steene at Pallant House Gallery has achieved widespread and recognition over the past few years, such as The Adapt Award for Excellence in Access for its work in working with people with disabilities, and the Gulbenkian Prize for the museum of the year 2007. Arts Council England, South East has described the Gallery's Learning and Community programme as 'an example of outstanding inclusive practice: instilling real value in the lives of those disabled and disenfranchised communities it connects with'.
