Outside In: Step Up is the skills-training programme of Outside In. It enables the project to broaden its offer to help artists to learn new skills, gain employment and build confidence by providing professional development opportunities in a range of art-aligned skills including leading workshops, researching into the Collections at Pallant House Gallery, and curating exhibitions.
During the Outside In: National exhibition there will be an audio trail throughout the historic house comprised of poems and descriptions based on research by Step Up artists into the collections.The pieces included in the audio trail are: Barbara Hepworth, Single Form (Nocturne), Frank Auerbach, Reclining Head of Gerda Boehm, Peter Howson, Suspicious Boy, Mark Gertler, Near Swanage and Patrick Caulfield, Reserved Table
The trail is available to download from the Outside In website and MP3 players are available from reception.
In addition the autumn programme of Sunday Art Classes will be led by our team of Outside In: Step Up artists. Visitors can learn a new technique, experiment with a range of mediums and discover the stories behind the works and lives of the highlighted artists from the collections at Pallant House Gallery as researched by the Outside In: Step Up artists.
