Partners in Art is an opportunity for people who want to follow their interest in art but need additional support. The scheme places them in a partnership with a volunteer who has an interest in art and may be a practising artist.
The volunteer partners are trained and the referral partners assessed to find out their needs and aspirations. They are then placed in a partnership that best meets each other's needs and creative ambitions. Partnerships are encouraged to work together in an equal way and to have respect for the others creativity and interests.
Partnerships meet on a regular basis at a time and place that suits them. They may create art together, visit exhibitions, or join other art activities in the local area. Many use Pallant House Gallery as a base, meeting in the Studio at the Gallery to attend workshops and create art work, taking part in the Community Programme and viewing exhibitions.
