Visitors will have the chance to explore the major international summer exhibition, ‘Surreal Friends’, without paying a penny when Pallant House Gallery dispenses with its entrance fee for the day on Saturday 24 July to mark the annual London 2012 Open Day.
Visitors will also be invited to take part in a special Open Weekend event to mark the annual UK-wide countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Led by the Portsmouth-based artist Jon Adams, visitors will be encouraged to make flags from recycled book pages and ‘plant' them in the Gallery studio. The event, entitled ‘Dysarticulate' is part of a country-wide initiative to create tens of thousands of unique temporary public artworks over the Open Weekend.
